V) We adore You, O Christ, and we praise You,
R) because by your Holy Cross, You have redeemed the world.

Meditation

When our Savior arrived on Calvary,
He was cruelly stripped of his garments.
How painful this was,
beause the clothes clung to his wounded and torn body,
and with them, parts of his bloody skin were pulled away.
Jesus wished to be rid of his garments
that He might die possessed of nothing.
How happy will I also die,
if I rid myself of my sins and evil attachments.

Prayer

Help me, O Jesus,
to lay aside the old man of sin,
and to renew myself according your will and desire.
No matter how painful it may be,
I will not spare myself,
but will break away from all my sinful attachments.
I wish to die to myself
that I might live completely for you, O Lord.

Our Father... Hail Mary... Glory be...

V) Lord, Jesus, crucified!
R) Have mercy on me!
