V) We adore You, O Christ, and we praise You,
R) because by your Holy Cross, You have redeemed the world.

Meditation

After Jesus was stripped of his clothes,
He was thrown roughly on the Cross,
and his hands and feet were cruelly nailed to it.
During all of this horrific pain,
He remained silent because He pleased his heavenly Father.
He suffered patiently because He suffered for me.
How do I act in sufferings and in trouble?
How fretful and complaining I become!

Prayer

O Jesus, meek Lamb of God!
I renounce from now on all my impatience.
Crucify, O Lord, my flesh and evil desires in this world,
but spare me in eternity.
I give myself over to you,
and I resign myself to your holy will
that it may be done in all things.

Our Father... Hail Mary... Glory be...

V) Lord, Jesus, crucified!
R) Have mercy on me!
